Property Purchase Costs

You should allow 10% of the declared value of the property you purchase to cover costs and taxes. The 10% is broken down as follows:

Transfer Tax- This is the main cost and is 6% on a resale property and 7% on a new property.

Notary Charges - These are based on a fixed scale, the minimum is 50,000 pesetas.

Solicitors - Price varies according to the purchase price. On a property of 20,000,000 pesetas, costs are about 100,000 pesetas.

Property Registration Fees - Costs range between 20,000 and 50,000 pesetas.

The above costs are paid by the purchaser.
